I feel the songs are still boring even if they are smaller in length.

was listening to a song the other day and found myself thinking, “When is this going to end?” I checked my phone — it had only been playing for 1.5 minutes. I was genuinely surprised.

I’m from India, and I grew up with songs that often ran 7–8 minutes long. Even today, I still listen to those older tracks, and somehow, I never get bored. They hold my attention from start to finish.

That got me thinking — why do some newer songs feel so dull so quickly? I think it might be because many of them are too monotonous. There’s not much dynamic range, no real “ups and downs” musically or emotionally, and lyrically, there’s often not a lot going on.

It’s like the song just loops the same vibe with minimal progression. I’m not saying all modern music is like this, but it’s something I’ve been noticing more often.

Has anyone else felt this way? What do you think is missing in newer songs that older ones had?
