hi just a simple question for anyone who knows korean society or lives there! every summer these cringey islamic facebook pages post the same kind of pics! korean women at the beach wearing long shorts or oversized shirts nothing revealing! and the caption is always like: look at korean women! they’re not even muslim but still modest and respectful of their culture! while our women just gave in to the west and now wear revealing clothes out of blind imitation! the photo always gets used to guilt muslim women like korean modesty is some kind of proof that we’ve gone wrong! so i just wanna know? do korean women really dress like that at beaches? or is it just cherry-picked stuff to fit a narrative? do korean women get judged for showing skin? or is society not that obsessed with women’s bodies like in some muslim cultures? just trying to figure out if this is actually real or just another image being used to control women who had nothing to do with it! thanks! submitted by /u/Dense-Grape-4607 |
