People talk a lot about how fans have parasocial relationships and don’t want their faves to date or interact with the opposite sex. But people don’t talk enough about how fans also place expectations on their faves friendships assuming they’re all really close or like family when that might not actually be the case. they don’t hate each other but just see each other as coworkers which is completely fine. A lot of fans project and place expectations onto group dynamics and friendships to fit their own fantasies and overanalysing every interaction.
The reason I’m even writing this is because I stan a 5th gen group with six members. In the first two years after debut they lived in two different apartments three members in each. In each apartment one member had their own room while the other two shared.
But starting this year everyone has their own room now. You’d be surprised how many people were upset about this. I don’t know if it’s because they think the members will be less close now or something but it’s honestly mind-blowing to me. How can anyone be upset by that? Don’t the members deserve their own privacy? Imagine spending all day together working then also living together and sharing a room.
That sounds exhausting it would be my worst nightmare. this isn’t the only time I’ve seen fans upset about groups having their own room or moving out of the dorm
As a fan would you be upset if your ult group weren’t the best of friends. How would you honestly feel?
