Jimin just broke the record for the longest charting song on Billboard Hot 100 by a K-pop soloist this decade with WHO! WHO is also the second longest-charting song on the charts by a K-soloist after Psy’s Gangnam Style and 4th overall for a Kpop act after Dynamite, Gangnam Style, and Cupid.
He also holds the record for the longest charting song by a K-pop act on Billboard Streaming charts for this decade with WHO still charting at #30 on said chart. It is incredible how WHO is mainly carried by streams (18.3 million streams in the US this week) despite the very bad playlisting it has and unlike the majority of the songs on HOT 100, it is not dependent on radio play to boost it or keep it on the chart. On the other hand, it is holding strong in the top 15 of HitsDD’s Song Revenue Chart (currently at #11 with $82K+ just for this week) so Jimin is still winning, I guess. WHO is also still charting in Billboard Canada Hot 100, and Billboard Japan Hot 100. Muse is also still charting inside the Billboard 200 with it being the second longest charting album by a K-soloist after Jungkook’s Golden and the longest charting album by Korean Act this year.
Honestly, it truly is insane how Jimin is pulling these numbers with a release that he put out while in the military and with basically no promo other than that one live performance on Jimmy Fallon. And I seriously can’t imagine the crazy numbers he will do on his next release, especially if he chooses to fully promote it as well as receive the tools like playlisting and radio that he rightfully deserves. MUSE as an album and a release is also truly cohesive and solid and it is a perfect continuation of FACE so I am glad his work is being appreciated.
