As things change, controversies are happening, and groups are coming to the end of their contracts, it got me thinking:
If you went to sleep and woke up to find out a group had disbanded overnight, which group would cause the most shock?
Would it be someone younger, but up and coming, like Nmixx? Or someone slightly older but very successful, like Aespa or IVE? Or groups coming up to contract renewals like Idle or Itzy? What about older groups who’s members are still growing but group activities have slowed down, like Mamamoo/Blackpink? Maybe legends like Girls Generation or Shinee?
I came to the conclusion that it would be Twice. They’re almost 10 years old. Even though they have a subunit for the J Line, multiple soloists, and many members with their own shows, the group is still very active as a whole. They’re very popular and beloved, and well respected. In many ways, they appear to be the standard to aim for as a group, a girl group, and a Japanese female idol.
Now it’s possible that my limited knowledge of BG makes this totally wrong, however I still feel Twice is the best choice. The only other group I’m familiar with that could have the same impact is BTS.
I’m curious to hear people’s thoughts
P.S: I’m gonna exclude BTS because I feel like that is highly likely to be the top answer for most. Justifiably so, but still
