I know there’s already existing mobile games centered around k-pop idols, but it would be cool to have some variation in terms of graphics, gameplay, plot, etc!
I was thinking that the graphics would be mimicking the sims (whichever version’s specs suit) or inzoi (but with lowered resolution for storage sake). The game offer players to dress their character from wide collections of stage outfits, casual airport attire, can be inspired from real concept photos.
In the beginning of the game for lore purposes, the player is presented a typical 7 year contract by a small company. They can choose which position their character would be focusing on (dance, rap, sing, center). The character would practice their skills and sometimes produce crafts to earn some royalty money that they can spend on clothes, dorm renovation, studio equipment, better producing team. They will of course be participating in award shows to grow network and establish friendships with other characters, and perform their songs maybe 1-2 times a week? We could engineer customized schedules for the players to follow.
After a certain amount of fame is achieved, the idol can choose to expand their popularity through acting, modelling, judging audition programs. They’ll be given side quests (optional) whether to contribute to a cause to boost popularity as well. They can play minigames with fans during signing events (pose for photos for example) and earn hearts which can also be a form of currency in the game.
Once in a while, there’ll be a pop-up requiring the players to navigate each crisis or news carefully. If done right, the idol’s reputation will increase and will decrease if chosen wrongly. It could be a dating rumor, criticism on their performances, invitations to talk shows, collaboration with other characters, etc. And after 7 years (in-game) is nearing to an end, the player must choose whether to renew, become a soloist, or redebut under bigger companies.
I just wanna type this all out here because I’ve an ambition to develop this game someday, although it might not be reachable, I’ll be satisfied just knowing that I’ve shared this thought with you! I wouldn’t even be mad if somebody takes this idea and run with it for reals. Let me know what you think!
