Inherited racism

Moved to Canada when i was around 6. My father had taught me to hate the Japanese and dislike/ look down on Indians. My mother on the other hand is not racist at all.

I still remember my first meeting of a Japanese person at a pool when I was around 8-9, maybe younger. I had just met her but still held deep resentment and hatred of her just for being Japanese. I was able to move past my bias after a few years, perhaps due to the multi-cultural environment of Canada, but I wonder how many Koreans in Korea aren’t able to let go of what happened and pass the hate down to the next generation.

I understand the horrors committed by Imperial Japan but the people who committed those acts are either dead or close enough. Not fair to blame the offspring for their parents sins.

Edit- clarifying that I only know one korean man; my father. Im not privvy to the thoughts of koreans still living in korea just wondering.
