South Korea’s Shilla Duty Free Shop announced on Thursday that it partnered with Meituan and Dazhong Dianping, China’s largest travel and lifestyle review platforms to attract Chinese tourists.
Meituan and Dazhong Dianping are leading lifestyle information platforms in China which users can access information and customer reviews across various categories including tourist attractions, shopping, accommodations, and delivery services, with a combined monthly user base of up to 470 million.
Under this agreement, both parties will engage in various joint marketing activities targeting Chinese tourists visiting Korea.
Shilla Duty Free Shop will provide exclusive benefits to Meituan and Dazhong Dianping customers, while the Chinese lifestyle information platforms will showcase promotions from Shilla Duty Free Shop on their online platforms.
“As many Chinese use Meituan and Dazhong Dianping to find information not only within China but also when traveling abroad, we expect this partnership to help attract more Chinese tourists,” a Shilla Duty Free source said.
