Do north korean defectors have any special paperwork?

I know that North Korean defectors get citizenship when they enter South Korea and can get passports. They are also eligible for various benefits. Does the government keep their names and ID in a database and check against it when they receive their benefits or do they get some special verification as a defector? Another question I have is about education gaps and documenting their lives in NK. To what extent can the government record their details in NK to a reliable and accurate level, enough to use in daily life? Wouldn’t it pose a problem in resumewriting or other forms of government services like applying for medical insurance? (I know it most likely does given the kinds of jobs defectors often end up doing but it would be nice to confirm it and have a reason why because I would like to understand how it actually works.) Thanks for the consideration.
