Fried chicken chain bhc to enter Indonesia in 2025

South Korea’s fried chicken brand bhc Group said on Tuesday it signed a master license agreement with Indonesia’s Nachindo Group to enter the Indonesian restaurant industry.

Indonesia has the fourth-largest population in the world with 280 million people. Half of them are young consumers under the age of 30.

According to bhc, Indonesians are accustomed to eating out and fast food, including fried chicken. The popularity of Korean culture such as K-pop and K-food is high.

The company will open its first store in Jakarta in the first half of next year.

In Indonesia, fried chicken is eaten with rice and bhc is developing a new menu with the concept of “Korean-style fried chicken as a meal”.

The firm plans to get halal certification in Indonesia and utilize the local delivery platforms.

bhc Chicken operates 27 overseas stores in seven countries, including Thailand, the US, Malaysia, and Taiwan.
