I think I’m getting scammed

So i was driving back home from Seoul and car in front of me stood on his brakes, i wasn’t following too close and i had time to stand on my brakes too, i barely touched his bumper however and we pulled off to exchange insurance info, he gets on the phone and my girlfriend tells me that he’s trying to say he is injured. Im a foreigner and i was driving with my girlfriend who is Korean(her car), we decided it would be a good idea to get the police to come out and get a report, hopefully indicating there were no injuries in the collision. Unfortunately the cops were not very helpful and they started shouting at my girlfriend saying since it’s her car, her insurance should be the one who takes the claim, i always started a claim with my own insurance and they said that i can deny any personal injury claim he puts up but i might have to get an international hold which I’m not too worried about but i don’t want this scum scammer guy to get a penny for “injuries”, and i also don’t want them going after my girlfriend since they got her insurance info too. What can i do to prepare myself if this guy decides to go all the way with this, should i start looking at lawyers?

P.S his car was a rental too

We were in the blue car and his was the black
