Hyundai Mobis, the world’s sixth-largest auto parts maker, announced on Tuesday that it published the Sustainability Report 2024, which includes over 3,000 patents related to future mobility obtained over the past three years.

The company has published its annual sustainability report since 2010 to share its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) achievements with major stakeholders.

According to the report, Hyundai Mobis filed 3,000 new patents globally in future car technology areas such as electrification, autonomous driving, and connectivity from 2021 to last year. This accounts for 37% of the 8,001 new patents filed during this period.

Of these, patents in the eco-friendly vehicle sector, including the battery temperature control system for electric vehicles, numbered over 950.

In 2022, Hyundai Mobis filed 210 patents in the eco-friendly vehicle sector, which more than doubled to 448 last year.

In this year’s sustainability report, Hyundai Mobis identified eight key ESG topics: climate change response, energy use management, product circularity, supply chain sustainability management, and product safety and quality assurance, among others, detailing the management status in each area.
