Vietnam has one of the largest K-pop fanbases, and is also among the strongest developing countries in the world, with a decent GDP per capita (FYI, higher than Philippines). We have also successfully hosted and sold out multiple K-pop concerts and festivals like BLACKPINK, 2NE1, Winner, Super Junior, Baekhyun (EXO), and lately, BABYMONSTER, and even the upcoming festival with G-Dragon as headliner, which has 40,000 tickets sold out in less than 2 hours. I can tell that we Vietnamese be fighting and buying these concert tickets effortlessly whenever idols and groups come to our country, and Vietnam has one of the loudest crowds in K-pop concerts too (we’d be singing along, supporting, screaming, chanting loudly,…) Yet, it seems like recent tours by TWICE, Stray Kids, NCT, BTS solos, SEVENTEEN,… still skip Vietnam and only visit Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia, Singapore, and Malaysia for their Asian legs and Vietnamese fans still have to fly out to other countries to go to K-pop concerts. I wonder when Korean idols and companies will seriously take the Vietnamese market seriously and invest in Vietnam more, and let their idols and groups easily visit Vietnam to host concerts…
