I recently came across this video of a veteran group’s performance (who are always praised for their vocals) at a concert, and here comes the most anticipated part of the song, SHE’S ABOUT TO HIT THE BIG NOTE AND… only to hear an over-processed voice that’s obviously not well-synced either. It’s a little disappointing because, girl, we all know you can sing, but I honestly rarely see you do it. What good does it do me to know that you have the ability to do it if in the moments when you can show it, you don’t? Hit your mic, let your breathing be heard while dancing, let some words be cut off, but I’d like you to prove something.
On the other hand, there are many idols who are considered weak singers but still put on a great show with the open mic, can they improve vocally? Obviously, but I can personally appreciate them a bit more because you can see the passion they have, they give it their all on stage and they manage to convey something to you.
With all of that I don’t mean that anyone should be looked down upon, it’s more about how cruel kpop stans can be to some while overlooking things for others that they should also improve. Sure, that’s just my opinion, but I want to know what others think.
