Language differences (or, would saying 조선어를 못해요 land me into an interrogation room?)

Hi, I waas looking through NK-travel agencies, and I saw one that offered a Language summer school in Pyonyang. I was wondering, how speaking with a NK dialect be percieved? Obviously, a lot of Koreans probably would (rightfully so) consider me just a stupid foreigner. But could this bring me in trouble? Do defectors have to relearn some things?

Coming from Germany, we also had our period of seperation, and are still to a large degree divided, but I don’t know of so many distinctly east German words that are more distinct than just the normal dialects.
