The original soundtrack of Netflix’s animated blockbuster KPop Demon Hunters has maintained its powerful chart presence, holding firm on the Billboard Hot 100 even amid the sweeping success of Taylor Swift’s new album.
According to Billboard on Tuesday, the soundtrack’s lead track Golden ranked No. 13 on the Hot 100 chart dated Oct. 18, down from last week’s No. 1. The entire top 12 was occupied by songs from Swift’s 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl.
Despite the fierce competition, Golden has spent 16 consecutive weeks on the chart — including eight weeks at No. 1, the second-longest reign for a K-pop song after BTS’s Butter (10 weeks).
In a rare feat, all eight tracks from the KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack have charted simultaneously on the Hot 100 for 14 consecutive weeks, underscoring the film’s enduring global appeal.
Among them, Saja Boys’ Soda Pop and Your Idol ranked No. 19 and No. 21, respectively, while Huntrix’s How It’s Done placed at No. 28. Other entries include What It Sounds Like (No. 36), Takedown (No. 40) and Free — a collaboration between Huntrix member Lumi and Saja Boys member Jinwoo — at No. 41.
Adding to the momentum, a special version of Takedown performed by TWICE members Jeongyeon, Jihyo and Chaeyoung landed at No. 71, further amplifying the K-pop presence on the chart.
