Does anyone know if these superstitions are/were common?

Hello everyone! I’m Australian but am of Korean descent and while I was talking to some other Korean people the topic of superstitions came up and it turns out that a couple that I’d been told as a child (mostly by my grandmother and other older relatives) didn’t seem to have been a thing in other people’s homes. Here are some examples:

  1. If you eat too much ginseng then your body will ache and be painful when you become old.

  2. My 할머니 when I was really young used to constantly say things like “아이고 못생겨, 아이고 미워라” to me and my siblings/cousins. I was told that it comes from an old belief where if you only say positive things to young children then ‘ghosts’ will get jealous and try to take your children away, so you had to pretend to insult children.

  3. You should walk back and forth from a bridge during the full moon to prevent any leg pains for the year.

So does anyone know if these aren’t just things my family made up?
