i was snooping around some older posts within kpop related subreddits and a lot of it revolved around live vocals which is inevitable since kpop IS music.
i was wondering on whether you prefer a group with poor vocals but live or a group with pre-recorded vocals.
for poor vocals during festivals or encore stages, a lot of fans defend them saying “at least they’re live” or “they’re trying and it’s not even that bad” (sometimes it’s clear that it’s bad for a singing CAREER)
for pre-recorded vocals, fans say “the backtrack is just heavily loud” or “at least the overall performance isn’t flawed because of bad vocals” (great performance but no effort into singing)
obviously, they should be able to sing well live majority of the time and can have some bad days but that’s not always the case especially with the rise of beauty>talent within the industry.
there are exceptional groups like nmixx who are amazing live, but many groups fall into the two categories above.
i was curious on everyone’s preferences since vocals are a “controversial” topic in kpop.
